On the Beach
Mixed media on plaster
12"W x 10"H

For the past couple of years I have been experimenting with image transfers onto plaster as the starting point for a piece. Sometimes the transfer is obliterated by the time the work is finished sometimes not. With this particular piece the canoe is all that survived the journey.
There were a number of artistic portage's and at one point I though the whole thing was going to sink. The image is from public domain and I would guess that the photo was taken in the late 1800's."On the Beach" is yet another Neil Young reference in one of my titles. I'm a avid promoter of Canadian culture past and present. This piece recently sold and part of the payment was 200 bars of handmade soap that we're given away at my beloved daughter Kate's wedding.
